Smart Education is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 5–16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in West Bromwich.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them achieve positive outcomes in education.
About the RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with SEMH needs, including those within alternative provision settings. Working closely with teachers and support staff, the successful SEN Teaching Assistant will help pupils develop emotional resilience, positive behaviour, and engagement in learning.
Job Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching AssistantSupport pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom
Assist with tailored learning activities and behaviour interventions
Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and positive behaviour
Encourage engagement and participation in learning
Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

Experience working with SEMH pupils or within a similar setting
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
